From Dr. Will House: Sherrie and I have had a tremendously rewarding adventure since taking over the clinic in 2020 and launching Eventide. We have been grateful to call San Juan Island our home during these years and have made countless friends and great connections in both our personal and professional lives being part of this community. At this juncture however, we have decided to moveback to our home state where we will be able to spend more time with our immediate and extended families. This was a bittersweet decision that we did not make lightly; we are so grateful for our time here and for your collective support of us and Eventide Health.

We are also thrilled to share that we have found an exceptional physician to take over the clinic and full care of the current patient panel, Dr. Stacie Vilendrer. An introductory bio of Dr. Vilendrer is just below.

Dr. Vilendrer MD MBA MS is a Stanford-trained, board-certified family physician who originally hails from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical, and business degrees at Stanford, followed by residency at UCSF-affiliate Santa Rosa Family Medicine. She then returned to Stanford for a research fellowship where she earned a Masters Degree in Health Policy and ultimately joined the medical school faculty. While there, she used a mixed methods approach to study health service innovations and published over 35 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Vilendrer has been practicing clinically since 2015, working her way through residency, Stanford’s Express Care Clinic, a community free clinic, and most recently part-time at Peace Health in Friday Harbor, offering primary and urgent care services.

Sherrie and I are thrilled to have Dr. Vilendrer taking over the clinic, and under her leadership Eventide will continue its Direct Primary Care model offering the same dependable, accessible care that patients have grown to love. We are confident that Dr. Vilendrer is the perfect doctor to take medical care at Eventide to the next level. While continuing the direct care model, she will also provide much needed women’s health services.

While Dr. Vilendrer will not take over care until October 1st, she invites those interested in getting to know her and learning more about her approach to medicine to set up an appointment in the coming weeks.

Two important points to be aware of during this transition:

* REQUIRED PAPERWORK: All current members will need to sign a new membership agreement under the new owner; all members 65+ will need to re-sign the private contract (required by Medicare) for seeing a physician who has opted out of billing Medicare. This can be done electronically, and a separate notice will be sent out detailing steps for completion.

* PAUSE ON NEW APPLICATIONS AFTER OCTOBER 1ST: As with any provider to a new panel of patients, Dr. Vilendrer will require some time to get to know the current patient panel. To accommodate this transition, the clinic will temporarily be closed to new applications after the transition date on October 1st. We therefore strongly encourage any new member applications to be submitted by September 12th for processing.

Please reach out if you have any questions about the upcoming transition, we appreciate your support.
